What the host family offers to you
For
25 hours and possibly 1- 2 evenings babysitting per week you
receive:
- Lodging
in a room of your own
- Full
board (3 meals per day)
- Pocket
money (min. 60 Euro per week)
- The
possibility to attend German language classes
- Euro
50 min. per m o n t h for German classes
- Health
and accident insurance - (EC citizens can travel with the E111
form)
Being
an au pair in Austria gives you the unique chance to spend 1-12
months in an Austrian host family and to get to know what live in
Austria is really like. For appr. 25 hours per week, you will be
entrusted with childcare and light household duties. You may be
asked to do some babysitting for 1-2 evenings per week by arrangement.
You should enjoy children's company, as you will be responsible
for the children and their environment. You are expected to give
quality childcare and become a reliable older "sister"
or "brother" for the children, care for them and offer
companionship, love and guidance. You will play with the children
and supervise them, pick them up from the kindergarten or from school,
prepare them light meals, keep order in the children's room, ect.
The family has to know that the kids are in good hands with you.
Additionally you may be asked to do light household duties (eg.
ironing, light cleaning, washing, vacuuming, preparing light meals).
