As
an alternative to London why not consider Oxfordshire - many
host families live near to the free language classes at Abingdon
College http://www.abingdon-witney.ac.uk
and the city of Oxford with it's famous university is a historic,
cosmopolitan city with lots to see and do. There is lots to
visit in the area such as Blenheim Palace and slightly further
away is Stratford on Avon, for a day trip to Shakespeare's bithplace.
Also London is only 45 minutes away by train and our partner
can recommend cheap but good accomodation. Many families provide
their au pair a car for sole use.
What
to do as an au-pair in Oxfordshire
In addition to exploring the University of Oxford and all the
shops in Oxford there is:-
1. London, only 45 minutes by train from Oxford.

2. Reading – full of shops, cinema, nightclubs
3. Blenheim Palace – just outside Oxford, it is possible
to visit the palace and the gardens.
4. Henley On Thames – a very pretty, typically English
town on the River Thames. Full of shops and restaurants.
5. Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is one of three official residences of The Queen
and has been home to the Sovereign for over 900 years. The Castle
is the largest inhabited castle in the world and the oldest
in continuous occupation. The imposing towers and battlements
of the Castle loom large from every approach to the town, creating
one of the world's most spectacular skylines. No other royal
residence has played such an important role in the nation's
history.
